1. Who we are

Forever Ledger is a personal hobby project operated by an individual based in New South Wales, Australia. "We", "us", and "our" refer to that individual operator. This site is not operated by a company.

3. What we do NOT collect

We do not collect or store card numbers, CVV, or any payment credentials. All payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We receive only a confirmation that payment was completed.

We do not collect your IP address beyond standard web server logs. We do not run analytics software, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.

4. How we use your data

Your name and optional details are used solely to display your entry in the public ledger. We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any other purpose.

5. Who we share your data with

Stripe, Inc. processes your payment. Their privacy policy applies to data you provide during checkout. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties. We do not use advertising networks or analytics tools.

6. Public nature of your entry

By registering, you consent to your name, optional comment, country flag, and entry number being publicly visible to anyone who visits the site, including search engines. We cannot make individual entries private after registration.

7. Data retention

Your entry remains in the ledger for as long as the site is operational. We do not commit to any minimum retention period — see the Terms & Conditions for our uptime disclaimer. Internal payment records are retained for fraud and dispute purposes, then deleted.

8. Your rights (Australian Privacy Act)

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, or request corrections if inaccurate. To request removal of your entry or access to other data we hold, contact us via the contact page. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode) and to assign an anonymous viewer ID used only for the live viewer count. This is not a tracking cookie and is not linked to your identity or payment. Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout, governed by their policy.

10. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance.

13. International users

Forever Ledger is operated in Australia and this policy is written under Australian law. If you access the site from outside Australia, you do so understanding your data will be processed in Australia, which may have different privacy protections than your home country.
