1. Who runs this

Forever Ledger ("the site", "we", "I") is an independent personal project operated by an individual based in Australia. It is not a registered company, charity, or commercial enterprise of any significant scale. It is a personal hobby project.

2. What the service is

Forever Ledger is a paid name registry. You submit your name and a small fee; if accepted, your name is added to a publicly visible list. That is the entire service.

3. No guarantee of uptime or permanence

Despite the name, nothing about this ledger is legally or technically guaranteed to be permanent. The word "forever" is aspirational, not contractual. The site may go offline at any time due to:

• Power outages, hardware failure, or internet disruption at the host location
• The operator losing interest, moving, or being unable to continue paying hosting costs
• Legal requirements, platform policy changes, or force majeure events
• Any other reason, without notice

By paying to register, you accept that your entry may be unavailable — temporarily or permanently — at any point. No compensation will be provided if the site goes offline.

4. What you are paying for

Your payment covers a one-time registration fee to have your name added to the ledger at the time of purchase. You are not purchasing hosting, a subscription, a domain, a contract of service, or any ongoing obligation on the part of the operator.

5. Refund policy

All sales are final. Because entries are added to the public ledger after payment confirmation, refunds are not available once your name appears in the ledger. If your payment was processed but your name did not appear, contact us within 7 days and we will investigate.

Stripe may have its own dispute and chargeback processes outside our control. Fraudulent chargebacks for completed entries will be contested.

6. Content standards

You agree to submit only your real name or a name you have a legitimate right to use. Entries containing hate speech, slurs, sexual content, or otherwise inappropriate content will be removed without refund at our sole discretion.

If an alias or pseudonym is used, it must not be intended to impersonate another real person or entity. While this is not explicitly blocked, we reserve the right to reject or remove entries that appear to be fake, misleading, or intended to impersonate others.

We use automated profanity filtering, but this is not perfect. We reserve the right to manually remove any entry we deem inappropriate at any time, without notice and without refund.

7. Your entry is public

By registering, you agree that your submitted name, optional comment, country flag, and entry number will be displayed publicly on the site. Do not submit information you do not wish to be publicly visible.

8. Payments are handled by Stripe

We do not store your card details. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's own terms of service and privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation that payment was made.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, the operator accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from use of or inability to access this site. Total liability in any circumstances shall not exceed the amount you paid for your registration.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
